Plans, promotes and coordinates the actions of all public and private bodies aimed at promoting Spain’s reputation and image abroad.

Mrs. Irene Lozano Domingo

She holds a Degree in Linguistics from the Complutense University Madrid and a Diploma in Philosophy from Birbeck’s College, London. Writer, journalist and columnist in various media organisations, she was a Member of Spanish Parliament from 2011 to 2016. On October 15, 2018 she took office as State Secretary for Global Spain.

Mr Joaquin de Aristegui Laborde

Graduated in Law from the Autonoma University of Madrid and began his diplomatic career in 1992. He has been stationed in Romania, the Netherlands, El Salvador, Thailand and Switzerland.He was a Deputy Ambassador Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office and other international offices in Geneva. Ambassador of Spain to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Consul General of Spain in Beijing (PR China) and Consul General of Spain in Lyon (France). He was appointed the Director-General of the State Secretary Office for Global Spain, on November 2, 2018.

The Office of the Secretary of State of Global Spain

The Secretary of State has an office that reports hierarchically to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation. Its main function is to plan, coordinate and promote the actions of public and private bodies aimed at promoting Spain’s image abroad.
